Larson’s Creative Concepts purchased a new location, at 216 W. Main St. in Mandan, ND.

The business plans to open in the new space as Larson’s Tattooing in early January 2015, and expand services to include piercing in addition to tattooing.  Larson’s has been open and offering tattooing out of 109 3rd Ave. NE in Mandan for approximately six years.

Owner and tattoo artist Jon Larson said the move is a natural progression. “We have been blessed to have our business continually grow since I began tattooing.  So much so, that we’ve gotten to a point where we’ve outgrown our space and felt the need to bring on more staff,” he said.

“I’m looking forward to the opportunity revitalize this Mandan landmark, provide my loyal customers with a better space, and welcome new customers to check us out.”

The Main Street location Larson’s will occupy was home to George’s Bakery for about 50 years, but sat vacant for the better part of the past decade.  Jon Larson and his wife and co-owner, Amber, are looking to restore much of the historic character before they open the doors.

“I think we removed about 80 years of wallpaper,” said Amber Larson.

The couple is restoring the original hardwood floors, exposing a portion of the original tin ceiling, and exposing a portion of the brick wall.  They are also capitalizing on Mandan’s downtown storefront improvement incentive as part of their exterior remodel.
